You can arrage the attribute images in the Attribute Name Controller- choose your attribute then click edit.
Sorry that is not available as a stock feature. You can have an image of each attribute separately.

Sorry- but the functionality you are looking for is not attributes, but more a "parent/child product" situation.
You could however make "Duck" a category with the products of mug, mousepad etc as...

Nope, at the moment you need the radio button but you do need to mark it as the default choice.

The attributes are not designed to be discounted in the manner you are attempting.
There are a couple of things you do need to know ahead of time.
Radio buttons are the little round circles that when clicked are filled. You can only choose 1 radio button in a group.
