OK, this gets stranger.

Looking in the database I find that:

Zen-Cart Main :: project_version_major = 1
Zen-Cart Database :: project_version_minor = 3.5

So, are you saying that the error message is due an incorrect version setting, rather than to a failed upgrade?

Well, I changed the template selection and the errors went away, so it looks like its the template.

I checked the fiile in the default template directory
( /includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_login_default.php )

and the line that causes the problem...

I had assumed the warning meant that I shouldn't attempt the upgrade, but since you posted that question I tried it and mainly it worked! Thanks.

I commented out that line and can now access the install page.

I get 1 warning on that page:
