v155 Re: Problem upfrading to 1.5.5f

What's your PHP version? Not that that should have any issue with stylesheets ... nor with the proper loading of files in their proper locations.
But the PHP version is important.
  2. v155 Re: Admin log-in page is tan color on version 1.5.5f

Right click on your page and use the browser's inspection tools to view the console errors, or any errors it reports in trying to load stylesheets etc.
    Again, probably missing some files.

Then you missed merging the new changes in /admin/includes/auto_loader/config.core.php ... or you replaced it with an old one, or you overwrote it with an outdated plugin.
  4. v155 Re: PHP on EZ-Pages after upgrading to 1.5.5f

It's generally recommended to NOT do this, because running the eval() function can open security holes. And for that reason many modern servers disallow use of the eval() function, in which case it...

v155 Re: Problem upfrading to 1.5.5f

It means you neglected to upload the /admin/includes/classes/VersionServer.php file to your server.
And if you skipped that one, it's worth checking which others you might have skipped too.

  42. Re: Front end>admin edit--Possibly IP address spoofing concern, but man I like this..

To answer your question about IPs, often the EXCLUDE_ADMIN_IP_FOR_MAINTENANCE constant is used to do IP-specific access control, since it's already easily configurable in the Admin.
  43. Re: Front end>admin edit--Possibly IP address spoofing concern, but man I like this..

There are a number of complex PCI compliance hoops to go through when enabling front-end admin-live-editing like that, which is why such a feature isn't in the core code.
