Finally... After showing the host that a DNS check showed problems they made some changes and some things like the contact us and this script started working.
The DNS check still shows problems but...

After going in circles I finally got the host to change some DNS settings in addition to my own the http stopped flipping to https and now the contact us form says your message has been sent.

disable http yes or no.
