Finally got it fixed. Thank you, kobra, for the tutorials link. I just couldn't figure out what term to search for in the forums and help.
Turns out when I converted the files (there were only 5)...

It appears that I removed all the BOMs and the issue still stands with the redirect. Any other ideas?

What browser are you using that shows the BOM? I've tried it on Chrome and IE-8 and didn't see the characters.

I haven't edited any of the files just transfered them to the new server. Could the windows server converted them during the transfer. If so, do you know if there might be a way to mass-convert from...
