Embedding coupon code in URL?

Hi,

Does Zen Cart support embedding a coupon code in the URL?

Ideally we'd like to generate some coupon codes in the ZC admin and then send out emails with links with the embedded codes.
Then the customer would click on that link to go to the ZC site and when he gets to the checkout page the coupon code field would be already prefilled with the info.

There's currently no built-in way to do this.

Is there any module/contribution to do that or should we start from scratch and modify the ZC code?
