Default Setting up demo for clients

Hello, I would like to offer a demo of Zencart on our site.

What would be a few good steps to perform for security or to set the demo up for multiple session use etc.

Also, would anyone know of a database script that could be run to clear the tables every few hours to resort back to the orig install?

Many thanks for any info about this,

    chief

You can install the ZENCART demo-site to a subdirectory on your site. Just say yes when asked to setup with sample data.

    Hi Louis,
    Yep had already done that.

What I was wondering was if there were any config or file changes that would make the site safer and easier to manage from demo use.

I have it set to demo mode at the moment.

How about scripts for the database to clean it out?

Not sure of better security. As for your scripts for DB:

    Try this link:

    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...products_id=81

This mod makes it very easy to backup/Restore DB from admin

help question Re: Setting up demo for clients

    Hello,

Was there ever an answer posted to how to enable a real demo site where clients can play around in the admin section and check out the system or are there only demo products? I need this set up as soon as possible. Thanks for a quick reply.

What do you want over the Demo products?

After creating an install and before any admin changes Do a DB backup and preserve - when the shop gets too far gone restore this DB backup and you should be mostly back to square one

just an addition to my note.

I think what I am looking for is the Admin Demo. Does it still exist?

I have never seen this specifically - A demo both frontend and Admin side is what I was referring to - and one can allow others to use the admin side if so inclined

So I am to understand that I create my own user: admin with the pw admin and then I let them in? Is there a way to limit the accessibility to the backend. I know there used to be something called Admin level 2, for this purpose exactly, but I cannot find how to do this. I also do not see any easy option to enable Admin demo. I think that the dumping of the db is the easiest part to fix.

If a demo, what limits are you wanting?

Best to cron a DB refresh at some interval and this refreshes the demo install back to square one
