    Default Downloadable Product Behavoir

Greetings all, it's been a while since I've posted, ran into an error or . . . well situation I've not seen before.

I have a client that has downloadable docs. When he clicks 'download' after purchase the document opens in the current browser window as opposed to being prompted to save it. Now, I know that . . . well when I tested it I was being prompted, that is until I unchecked the box that stated 'Always ask' and selected 'Open'.

So now, when I go in IE7 it opens the downloadable document in the same window. How do I get it to prompt again? I'm looking at browser settings . . . finding some things on Microsoft.com . . . but I'm not digging the idea of changing registry settings. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Yes I've cleared cache, even went as far as going under Internet Options, Advanced, and reset everything.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thank you,

I was using the redirect which was working fine, tried changing it to streaming just to see if it would work and it did the trick. Still doesn't make much sense to me as to the why of it all but hey, clients happy.

    Thank you again
