featured sidebox only displaying 1 product

For some reason, although I have 5 products listed as featured, and I went Admin>configuration>maximum value>Random Featured Products for Sidebox and set the maximum to 3 I only get one product showing up. Is their some bit of code I could have accidentally removed or do I have to choose another option to get the featured sidebox to work?

Provided you have more than one featured product that has active status and is not date restricted, then increasing the max in the Admin should be all you have to do to get several listed.

Is it possible that you have over-ridden the features sidebox template or module file?

I am not sure. I went to both

includes/modules/my_templates/sideboxes/specials.php
includes/templates/cooltech/sideboxes/tpl_specials.php

replaced them with the default php files and my featured sidebox still don't seem to work.

I just replaced the includes/modules file and that did the trick.

This could of been due to problems with the Featured sidebox files:
/includes/modules/sideboxes/featured.php
/includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_featured.php

where as, you initially updated the specials sidebox files ...

Thanks for the update that reloading the files got you back on track ...
