Stock quantity by attribute.

Hi all - I'm a Zen Newbie and wondered if anyone could answer this question please.

Is it possible to specify stock quantity by attribute. To give you a real world example :

Lets say I sell a T Shirt. It is available in sizes Small & Medium and in colours Red & Blue.

Now... I can setup a product called "T Shirt" and specify that I have, say, 20 units in stock. I can now set up attributes for "T Shirt Size" and "T Shirt Colour" with the corresponding values of "Small & Medium" and "Red & Blue".

However.... Lets assume that in my warehouse I have the a total of 20 T shirts in stock but split into the following :

10 Medium Blue
5 Small Blue
2 Medium Red
3 Small Red

How can I tell the system how many of each attribute type I have in stock in order to prevent the following situation :

Customer A buys 2 Small Red T-Shirts
Customer B buys 1 Small Red T-Shirts
Customer C buys another Small Red T-Shirts (Even though I don't physically have any in stock!)

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Erm... I think I have just answered my own question... In retrospect maybe I should have tried the search facility before asking the question

is the best way of doing it? Might be helpful for anyone else searching for similar.

To be honest, for the few products in my store that have different attributes I will probably just create them as separate products.
