Cart Vanished

Im a somewhat competent web developer that is working on his second Zen install and a site that's been stable for a couple of months has just disappeared.

If you browse either to the main or admin directory you get the setup page. It looks like all the files exist, and the database is in place. I'm not sure what else to check.

If someone could chime in with a place to start i'd certainly appreciate it.

Start by asking your hosting company what has suddenly been changed.

Then check to be sure that the files on the server are in fact *your* files and that something on the server hasn't let a hacker in somewhere. http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...ing_From_Hacks

If it's asking you to do an install, that means it cannot find the database specified in the configure.php files and/or the paths in the configure.php files can't be used to fully assemble the required paths to be confident that the fileset on your server is complete or usable ... thus it assumes that it needs to do an install in order to set the correct information.
If you're certain that the data in the files is correct, then the files on your server must be damaged, etc.

Follow the link above for some directions on evaluating the files on your server to determine what might be wrong, even if you don't think anything has been hacked. The principles are the same.

Thanks i'll follow through the logic and see what I can find
