I just installed zen cart and can't upload images while in admin. Nothing happens. I think I may have not entered the ftp settings when I was installing and now I can't figure out what file to add them to. Help please.

Are you using the product upload option from the add new product page?
If so make sure you images folder inside the root where zencart is installed is set to 777 or 755 on some servers.

You can change permissions either from your webhost's control panel or by connecting with an FTP program. Select the images folder and make the change. In ftp the command is usually called chmod although other ftp programs may simply refer to file or directory "permissions". You want to set the permissions as follows:
user: read/write/execute (7)
group: read/[none] /execute (5) or read/write/execute (7)
world: read/[none] /execute (5) or read/write/execute (7)
or simply 755 or 777 (755 provides better security)
Another way these might appear is drwxr-xr-x (755) or drwxrwxrwx (777)
I'm in a similar situation. I'm in Define Pages Editor and I want to add/upload an image with the paragraph, but when I do, the Image Inserter says:
Invalid base directory: public_html/www.jdmauto.ca/store/images
I have gone to the FAQ and looked this issue up and tried to change the configure.php from NONE to DATABASE and finally to FILE but still no success. Any suggestions? Am I missing something?
link is www.jdmauto.ca, but it's more of an admin issue, not a layout issue.
Thanks,
Cyrus
