Default Another problem with a local installation

Everything was working great until I got to the email installation.

I'm using Mercury as the mail server and Thunderbird as the email software.

I've been foillwoing the instructions in the manual...

I think I have Mercury configured correctly.

and I've entered deleted and re-entered the accounts several times.

When I try to send an email from Thunderbird it gives me an error with the message.

"Server cannot send to non-local address - check adressees" The addressees seem alright to me.

I have set the mail server as mail.example.com
    and smto as mail.example.com

and everything seems to be set correctly for example.com being the effective domain.

I'm stuck... I've spent hours on it.

    Can anyone pelase help.

I might set the outgoing as my normal email and send through there.

    Many thanks

    Regards

    Roy N.

I think it's something to do with Thunderbird.

Their help says to configure iit to access a VPN...bit don't tell you how to configure it.

I tried to sue outlook but couldn;t get it to recognise example.com

it wouldn;t accept the pasword for the account.

    I'm stuck...Please help.

    Regards

    OK. I've fixed it.

I have difficulties these days in seeing the difference between : and ; on my screen and with . and ,

I had typed ; instead of : in the Mercury.ini file... changed it and now everything works fine.

It threw me because as it was - Mercury was testing fine within itself...

I was wearing my multifocals but had to resoprt to the magnifyers.

    Many Thanks

    Regards
