Pallet delivery (variable cost) for certain items

My dilemma!!

We sell various chemicals, when a chemical might exceed a certain amount then we have to ship it on a pallet by law.

There are different chemicals in different categories, so I was wondering if there is an easy way to do this?

Delivery price also depends on where they are in the UK, so its controlled by Zones aswell as products!

We are willing to make an average postage cost to avoid the zone problem if this would help in anyway.

Do people have suggestions on how we can do this anyway? Maybe this method?? http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91394 and just add all the chemicals which require pallet delivery to "Chemicals with special delivery requirements" or something like that!!!

Hi Tom,

There is commercial contribution that will do this if you are happy to pay a small fee.

I bought it for my store so know it works. I can't post details here so your best bet is to contact the author at ceon.net

Ive managed to get quite far using the Zone Table shipping method...

but, need to force shipping mode when a product in a certain category is selected and dont know how to do it!!

I've contacted that company anyway, hopefully they might give me a few lines of code... if not then I will ask them how much for a module.
