Have a discount, but don't display it?

Hi, I'm sure this is an unusual problem, but I need to be able to run a 10% off sale, however, the price can't be listed until the given item has been put into the shopping cart.

Sorry to bother everyone, but I've looked through all of the FAQs and tried adjusting every setting I could think of to no avail.

Any help resolving this conflict would be greatly appreciated, and I thank anyone who puts some time into answering this for me in advance.

What about a coupon instead of a hidden sale?

The two problems that have occured with using a coupon is that customers might forget to enter in the coupon, and the coupon system is incompatible with Google Checkout.

Google lets you create custom coupons. You can just use the same coupon code from Zencart for the Google Checkout coupon.

We tried that earlier too. That still has the problem where customers will forget to apply the coupon, and for the most unusual reason, google checkout won't let you enter in coupons at the stage in the process Zen Cart dumps the user into it at.

The whole Google Checkout explanation for this is bizzare, they blame how it updates things in the cart for not being able to use custom coupons in the cart, but mention that their premium service implements the cart differently.

I have read the response to this questions but don't see any other suggestions but the coupon, which seems to have issues. I am looking to be able to do this same thing, Discounted price only shows in shopping cart.....

What about an order total module like Group Discounts? Won't show until checkout time.
