Short Description with ZenCart 1.3.7

Has anyone installed the Short Descriptions feature with Zencart 1.3.7?

1. The Product Listing page shows both normal and short descriptions. I would expect the short description to replace the normal description here.
2. The preview of a new item shows only the normal description. Would expect to see both.
3. Can this behavior be changed using the Short Description configuration setting?

(I am not a PHP programmer, so I am not able to determine the expected results by code examination)

Yes/ I tried values 0,1,99, and a few in between, but other than changing the poition and width of the normal and short description columns, it did not provide the behavior I expected.

The README says that values 1-99 will enable the feature, but does not elaborate on what the different values do; so without reading the code (which I can not do), it is hard to figure out if it is working correct or not.

Oops, my bad - I was not descriptive enough in my original post . I am trying to implement the feature

which was written based on V1.3.5. The README does not describe the expected product list format or the purpose of option values 1-99 of the "Display Product Short Descriptions" configuration parameter. Hence my original query.

I have been using the Display Product Description default value of 150, but have a need to provide a different Normal and Short description for an item I am listing.

Yes I have the short description mod working in 1.37.
Using the latest version (v1.1) updated by Joost (in downloads area)

A. Configuration > Product Info > Product Info > Product Info - Display Product Short Descriptions

To enable select 1=on

B. Configuration > Product Listing > Display Product Short Descriptions

To enable enter 1-99 - Doesn't matter which.

You can show one or the other or both. Disable display of regular product description on product listing or product info pages as you wish.

The short description displays ABOVE the regular product description in preview (in admin).

Did you have to do anything special to see the short description in Search results?

I installed the Short Description mod and it works fine except I have no product descriptions when Search is used. My site is at http://www.macrefurbs.com/gilder/

I just have Short Desciptions showing on Product listings, not on product info pages. Just searched on keyword content which is in one of the products short descriptions, but I confirmed Zen cart search did not find.

Hi,

I also don't get the Short Description on the search results and also on the products_new list and products_all list

It does work fine on the main page ( New products for xx month) and on the list by Category.

Has anyone found a solution on any of these issues ?
