Remove email box from main page

I've found the new manual a great help, in getting many more things to work
much better than before.
However stuck on one thing!! I would like to remove the contact us box on main page.I see it should be in index.phpmain_page but cant see what to edit,any help much appreciated. Using latest version on local host to test.It also gets in the way of the six images I am displaying.

You have a picture of this problem? The stock install doesn't have a contact us box ...

it appears on all my zen carts.This is not site I have problem with but may be seen at www.euhandyman.com, click on search trades, any product. Contact us box above tell a friend.

Well that is not your MAIN page -

Check your store setting in admin > config > my store > store status

Thanks Kobra, thats fixed it.Changing the store status has brought up different boxes which I can then remove in admin.
