I switched to the classic template and the problem still exists, so it has nothing to do with my template.

Does anyone know what this problem is?

Exactly the same thing is happening to me. There is 1 product on the site and the LHS menu links bring up a blank page, though you can navigate to the product in via the new product listing on the home page. When the shop is off for maintenance I get a blank screen too and I don't think this is normal.

My debug error says:

I just solved the identical problem! Wizzo!!

It must have been an error in modifying includes/languages/english.php as a fresh upload of the file solved the issue completely.

No, that wasn't my problem. I actually have no idea what the problem was, but I recreated my index.php file (the one I was getting those errors from) and everything worked after that. So when I was editing the other one I may have boo-booed and put something in that wasn't supposed to be there.

MAKE SURE YOUR IMAGE IS RGB!!

If it is CMYK it will stop most of the entire page loading

Huh? No one mentioned anything about it being an image problem (and in fact it isn't). Regardless, the problem is solved and it was far from an image issue.

I took an original index.php file and recreated what I wanted and it worked fine.
