Default Can't get past the license section on the installation

As soon as I click continue on the LIcense portion of the installation I get this error:

PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 00000000

    ---
What I have done so far:

    1) Uploaded the entire web application to my server
    2) renamed the configuration.php files as per the installation instructions.
    3) Run the installation.

    Did I miss anything?

That's a problem with your Windows server and its PHP configuration, and maybe even the permissions settings configured within the server. It's not related specifically to Zen Cart.
You'll need to approach your hosting company for specific assistance there.

Thanks for that information. I thought it would be something with the permissions on the directories. I'll put a query in to have full access on all those.

I suggest you tell them what's happening and what you're trying to do so they can see it first-hand.
I doubt it's strictly permissions-related. It seems more server-software-related to me.

    Alright.

If I don't rename the dist-configuration.php files in admin and the includes section it brings up a scrren telling me all the errors

if I do change the names of the dist-configuration.php files to configuration.php... i get the access violation error. (After giving EVERYONE full access to these 2 files).

Too bad I can't edit posts.

I just tried to upload it into a new Folder on my web server. Same error occurs when i try to go past the license aggreement.

Now I did get past it once, and it told me I had a bunch of errors and my configure.php files didn't exist... but then it started erroring out again.

Is there a specific version of PHP, or any additonal PHP software needed?

So it all works until i get to the phpBB portion of the install.

I dont' want any phpBB, so when I click save phpBB settings, it just goes to a blank page.

    Any thoughts?

When you click to save settings on the phpBB page, it's trying to write all the settings you entered in all the previous pages into the configure.php files.
If you're getting a blank page at that stage, it suggests that the files are not writable by the webserver and/or the disk quota for the webserver account is maxed or there is insufficient disk space. Those are the most common causes anyway.
