Create account email weirdness

Hi All,

I have just noticed a new message appear in the emails that cstomers receive when they create an account

"Your Discount Coupon - As a thank you for joining our community, we've
included a 10% discount coupon. You may use this coupon once to get 10% off
any order, large or small. It is good through December of 2007. The coupon
code is '08825bbc50'. To use this code, enter it during checkout in the
coupon entry field."

This appeared 2 days ago and i have no idea where it came from? I havent installed any new mods and im not aware of any chages ive made in the admin that would have affected this?

Does anyone know how to remove it?

Take a look in admin / configuration/ gv coupons / and the settings for New Sign Up Discount ID.

Hi,

I had a quick look around there and i have the following settings

Default Order Status For Zero Balance OrdersProcessing [2]
Length of the redeem code 10
New Signup Discount Coupon ID#
New Signup Gift Voucher Amount
Maximum Discount
Coupons Per Page 20
Maximum Discount Coupon Report Results Per Page 20


Not sure these are affecting it??

Try this...

admin / tools / developers tool / type in 08825bbc50 in the bottom box, in the box next to that one select admin/catalog and see what file has this coupon code in it.

I always forget about using the developers tools. I should have done this initially.

It was part of the 'checkout without account' module. Its now deleted.

Of course, the create account email you received with the COWOA mod is never actually sent to the customer. As such, it doesn't make any real difference to edit it.

Not sure about that, but I was having the same problem deleted those lines from the COWOA mod and it is no longer showing up.

Actually in my cart they do rea welcome email. I know they are not supposed to but it does send one. And it has the coupon stuff in it. (or did at least)

Tested it with one of my email addy. Got 2 email one in admin and one in my personal email.
