Image size help

I've been trying to get the small, _MED, _LRG images to work on a site I'm working on and I can't seem to get it no matter what I try. I've saved the images with the appropriate _MED and _LRG suffix in jpg format, but when I upload them to the product and to the medium or large directory, it seems to be overriding itself. So if I upload the large image, it will work for all 3 sizes and then if I upload the medium image, then it will take effect for all three sizes. Am I uploading images to the wrong spot or is there a setting I'm missing? I'm trying to avoid installing a plugin for it, and there has to be a way...I just can't get it! Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

Make sure you are NAMING images correctly

How are you loading the small, medium and large images?

Are you loading the small image via the Product add/edit and then do you FTP your medium and large images to the correct directories?

Or, are you trying to load all 3 via the Product add/edit?

I am confused.

I have read Ajeh posts and Misty's reply but neither makes it clear what the process is for uploading images.

I understand about creating three size images; Image.jpg is small, Image_MED.jpg is medium and Image_LRG.jpg is large.

I see I already have Large and Medium folders under Images Folder.

When I upload a file to attach to a product, Which file do I upload, Image, Image_MED or Image_LRG or all three?

Can I upload ALL the Image files via FTP to each of the three directories and then somehow use them for the product?

Also another problem is that I have created 155 Product listings before I found out about Image sizing so do I have to delete all 155 products and re create them with the three Image sizes?

Yes I did, before I posted my help request.

If you refer to the calicocat example it says "In the Categories/Products when adding or editing you would browse for your image and select where to put it ...

If you choose from the Dropdown the Main Directory ... this will go to: /images

So your image files for this product would be:"

and then shows the three folders with files added called calicocat, _LRG _MED but how do they get in the respective folders?

In Categories/Products if you upload one image called calicocat to main directory you get one image called calicocat in the main directory and nothing in directory called medium or large. How do they get in these directories.

Next, you need to manually upload the matching images for the medium, large, additional and additional large images ...

In the add/edit Products you are only uploading the 1 base image ...
