I set a test downloadable product. It's downloadable so there is no point in specifying quantity that is greater than 1.
But now whenever a (test) customer "buys" it, I get an email saying:
How do I get rid of this?Warning: Low Stock
Thanks!

Downloads do not track stock ... if your Downloads are tracking stock then you do not have them correctly setup ...
Downloads are NOT Virtual Products nor should they be marked as Always Free Shipping ...
Use the settings:
Product is Virtual: No, Shipping Address Required
Always Free Shipping: No, Normal Shipping Rules
The Download will stick skip the checkout_shipping page as it knows, by virtue of the filename on the Attribute, that there is no shipping required ...
Using the wrong settings will cause issues on shipping costs especially on a mixed cart of Physical Products, Virtual Products, Downloads and the like ...

Ajeh, thank you again for your guidance. This is what I had (still have) when getting this Low Stock Warning:
I think that it follows everything that you recommended. If not, what am I doing wrong?
Actually, what am I doing wrong in any case.
BTW, I am not mixing any products. My current test customer for downloadable products, "purchases" only one product, the downloadable one.
Thanks,
Daniel
Aha! A clue ... the little grey cells just restarted ...
What is your Low Stock Level set to?
What happens if you set your Quantity to 1 greater than that?

By my "Low Stock Level" you nean "Stock Re-order Level", right? As in the following snapshot:
If so, it is set to 5. If I set product's quantity to 6, the warning will probably go away, but...
- I thought that Zen Cart smartly ignores quantities when it knows it is a downloadable product.
- I don't really want the customer to see how many items are in stock. I only would like her/him to see whether the item is in stock or not. I don't mind placing a quantity of 6 to each downloadable product, but how do I turn off the customer's ability to see "actual" number of downloadable products in stock?
Thanks!

Thank you! That answers my second question (I guess that the indication of whether the item is in stock is implied by the mere fact that Zen Cart knows how to remove the item from display once it is sold out).
I am still intrigued by the discovery that Zen Cart sends a "Low Stock" warning despite knowing that this is a downloadable product.
Thanks,
Daniel

I'm having the same problem, but I DO want the stock level to show. In any case, it doesn't matter what I set the stock level to, it still sends a warning email when a download product is chosen. Everything is setup according to the docs. Can anyone please offer another solution?
In case of a misunderstanding: The solution for the warning email is not to set Show Quantity to 'false' (that was the solution for my second question).
The solution for the warning email is to set product quantity 1 more than the value in "Stock Re-order Level".
HTH,
Daniel
