Need help and information with Zen Cart 1.3.8a

PHP Version: 5.2.6 (Zend: 2.2.0) PHP Memory Limit: 32M PHP Safe Mode: Off




Hello!

I'm new to Zen Cart. I read e-Start Your Web Store with Zen Cart
and I'm still looking through Building An Online Store The Zen Way. I check through the FAQ.

I have little to no knowledge of what to do.
I love what I see of Zen Cart and love to be able to use it.

I will be selling used books and would like to see Publishers and ISBN
instead of Manufacturers and Products Model. Canada Shipping Module would be great as well.

If someone can explain step by step by using words that a 2-year-old will
be able to understand that will be great.


I install Zen Cart 1.3.8a by login into my Hostmonster and click on install.
I receive one Template and that is the Classic Contemporary Green (Default).
I deleted the categories and banners. On the main or home page
"I still see Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™
E-Commerce Solution. Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in?"


I like the Classic Template so that is no problem. I will like to be able to backup my files.
Install Zen Cart on my local machine will be a problem. That is a no, no.


If I mess up by deleting all those categories and banners.
Should I unistall and re-install?

Check in your cPanel manager

This is something I cannot take likely. So I'm going to back off for a while and do some more reading and research.
"Building An Online Store The Zen Way" eBook make it easier to understand Zen Cart. I hope to have the store
setup in a week but that will not happen.

Yes! I know that the information are in the FAQ's.

Information given in most of the FAQ's are for those who have prior knowledge. I do not. I'm willing and able to learn.

Right know I'm taking it a little at a time. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Know I will install Canada Post Shipping Module.
