problems accepting debit cards

My online shop allows payment with Mastercard and Visa credit cards but rejects Meastro and Cirrus (debit cards). Why is this? Is it a set up fault or do i need to install something? I get emails most days from people in Europe, mostly, who are having problems purchasing goods????

That would be a function of your payment processor - have you asked them about it?

How do you accept credit card payments on your website?

Do you have a credit card merchant account, or do you use the Zencart built-in module which sends you part of the number?

I use the Zencart built-in module which emails me part of the number and stores the rest of the info in the admin!

Do i have to switch to World Pay as a merchant account for example to be able to accept all forms of payment?

I'd really like to resolve this as i had more enquiries last night from Europe

I've got the same problem.
Using the ZC built in module, it accepts credit cards OK and sends us the part number for us to process, but with debit cards the card start date is required as well as the issue number, for which there are no fields in the checkout process.
Still running 3.1.7 - is this resolved in 3.1.8 or do I need a different shipping module altogether?
