Products Quantity Box to Drop Down

Is there any way to make the Products Quantity Box a drop down? I don't need to use atributes just quantities up to 8 units at a time. By default it is a field to which you enter a number.

Can that be a dropdown?

Does anyone have an answer to this one? I have the exact same question.

I need to be able to sell my product in quantities of 250, 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000... so I can't just use the Minimum and Maximum values with an even increment that is built in when you create a product. A quantity drop-down would be perfect.

There really isn't anything build into Zen Cart to manage unit sales that are not consistant with Minimum, Unit and Maximum to control the quantities ...

You would really need to customize something for this to handle quantities where there isn't a clear pattern that can be tested for to manage this type of ordering ...

You could use Attributes for the pricing of these units as order 1 unit of 2500 ... but that is not accounting for the sale of quantity 2500 of the product but would show as a sale of 1 with a price at the 2500 unit rate ... and I don't know if that would accomplish what you are wanting, unless you are not concerned with the actual stock management ...

I might could just do it with attribute settings. Since we'll not be selling these items individually we're more concerned with how many cases of each that we have left.

It seems like there was a mod somewhere that I stumbled across at one point that helped track stocks of attribute-sold items.....

There is an add-on for this as it is not available at this time in Zen Cart for attribute stock tracking ...

Just curious - has anyone found an answer to this or come up with an addon since then? I have to imagine there has been a pretty big calling for something like this. Links/examples appreciated! :)
