in the making of a splash page: using zen functions from external site

Ok I'd like to make a really simple splash page which would load from the site root index file instread /store/

What I'm wishing for the put on the page is our featured product and direct add to cart link (with the stock/size dropdowns) which I'm hoping to be able to link to our zen's shopping cart..

What do you guys think is it easy to achieve or should I just settle to destroy our beloved frontpage and hide footer and header with css??

Don't know why you just don't make Zen Cart look like your "Beloved" page??

But if you are intent on this - look in the downloads section for a mod to display Zen Cart items on another non-Zen Cart page

well there are many reasons fex first reason that splash page would have completely different look and I'm afraid it would be complicated to implement on our current page base.. it is in our plans but we just don't have the time to update our whole store site to the wished look we're after.. Anyway thanks for the tip Kobra I'll look into it. cheers

Is this the mod you were talking about?

Sidebox Anywhere

You can use define_main_page.php to create an entirely different front page, turning off the sidebars, header and footer only for the home page if you want in tpl_main_page.php. See my site for an example.

This keeps all regular ZC functions available to you.

And yes, the Sidebox Anywhere mod will work outside ZC.
