Default I've lost control of column widths!

    Hi guys and girls

It's been a long day and I think I've made some changes to my stylesheet which as a consequence has made my left and right columns change width to whatever they want to be! Column width should be 150pix each side as specified in the admin customisation, but that's not having an effect. If you refresh this page below / jump to another section, you'll see what I mean:

I've lost track of what I've changed today and I don't have a backup. I'm sure it's something simple but can't see the wood for the trees - can anyone help please?

    That's strange.

What happens if you remove the New Products from the main page? (Admin - Configuration - Index Listing)

Hi Stevesh - thanks for taking a look - I've removed the new products as suggested and it's still doing it. I have also adjusted the column widths and sidebox widths and see no visible change. Even if you sit on ther index page and refresh, it changes each time! So strange - it's got to be something in the stylesheet that I've changed today, but I'm not sure what?!

OK, just did a test and it's not my stylesheet. I removed my stylesheet and replaced it with a copy of the one from default template and the same erros and effects appeared. So I've now put back my altered custom version, as it can't be the stylesheet.

My client's been uploading pictures today - some of them massive (for instance 2000 pixels wide!) - could this be causing problems? I know that Zen Cart is proportionally scaling them to display right but might this cause a problem?

That image thing is probably it - that's what I was thinking when I was looking at the New Products.

2000 pixels? Never allow a client anywhere near the site.

I'll resize them all in the morning and see whether that sorts it out! I've had a good look at what I've changed today and I can't see anything else I've uploaded / changed / updated that might affect it, other than changing settings via Admin - and I'm sure that hasn't casued it - if I crack it with the images, then I'll let you know. Thanks very much for your help!

Well, I've been on the server and made all the uploaded images a reasonable size for when they're selected - 800 pixels max width or height - and it hasn't made any difference to the left and right columns resizing themselves, so if anyone has any other ideas I'd really appreciate your suggestions!

OK this is where I am:

    - It's not my style sheet

    - I haven't changed any of the php files to make this happen

    - I've checked excessive image size and that's not throwing it, even though it scales them proprtionally

So I reckon it must be something in the Admin panel. There are a few places to specify image size, maximum values, minimum values - could I be confusing it somehow via the admin panels settings?

Is it possible to fix the width of the center column (not ideal and I shouldn't have to but hey!) - for instance, I've set the width at 740 pixels, left and right columns at 150 pixels each, so could I force the center column to appear at 440 pixels wide? Any ideas please anyone?

Looks like you got it fixed - did you set the center column to a fixed width?

Yes, I specified all three as fixed widths in the stylesheet and did matching settings in the admin panel but it still throws out of alignment occasionally, but nowhere near as obvious. Anyway, thanks very much for having a look.
