    Default Urgent Help 404 error everytime a customer goes to check out

    Hello,


    I really need you help. Every time a customer goes to "check out" they get a 404 error message.

    Same thing when they try to create a new account. I'm thinking it might be a session varilable im not sure.

    Can anyone please help me with this problem. I would really appreciate it!

    Check to ensure you have "checkout_shipping" in "./includes/languages/english"
    and: "create_account" in same folder as above.

    a 404 error is caused when a file isn't on the server... so typically someone has either changed the name of the file, moved it, or deleted it.

    you might consider using a tool like "Beyond Compare" to check that all files are installed on the server (compare your site to a fresh un-zip of Zen Cart).

    Beyond Compare is a program for your computer, you can download it here>> http://www.scootersoftware.com/ <<

    It is pretty easy to use, you can find info on how to use it on their site.

    Or if you are on a Mac you can use TextWrangler which has a built in "compare front 2 files" feature.

    You must be missing the files and folders in /includes/modules/pages/ as well.

    It seems fairly certain that your FTP upload is bad, or something you've done on the server has removed or relocated important files.

    The most common cause of unexpected behavior on a new site is a failed FTP upload.
    The next is making errors in PHP files when customizing content ... this usually causes a blank page.

    That might be the problem i guess i"m going to re upload my files... I'm going to see if that works. If i delete the zen-cart folder and re upload a new one will my products still show if i link it up to the same DB? Thanks a lot !

    You should do a database backup before you do anything else.

    Then, yes, re-upload your Zen Cart files.

    You could also download what *is* on the server, and compare, as suggested in my prior post. Then fix the discrepancies.
