disable user/customer registration/login

I have read the forum and i have found similiar 2 methods.

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...e+registration -- change store status but turns off payments etc.

and a module/plugin which allows payments etc without logging in.

These are not what i want. I only want to turn user registration off (and possible login) so i can test my shop throughly with an account i have set up. this will let me try my checkout etc.

i do not want customers buying non existant stock.

Is this possible ?

There's an option in Admin - Configuration - Customer Details that allows you to require authorization for new customer accounts. You could set that to 3 and just not authorize accounts until you're ready. Might give you an idea about how much interest you're attracting, too.

If this is a new site, you probably won't have a lot to worry about right away, anyway.

This option will allow me to carry my work out without fear of cutomers.

I think i will make a suggestion to add a few options to this setting.

i.e disable login (would imply registration disabled?), disable registration, disable login except for admin and test accounts.

i dont want a password on my site. I just want it fully working where customers cannot register or login but i can use 1 or 2 accounts to login and test the checkout, the look, feel and anything else before going live.

Using 2 servers is not really an option for me either.

put your site in down for maint mode, with your IP ignored ( setup in admin )

then when your NOT testint put store in showcase mode.

Sorry ... thought you had tried the Down for Maintenance and needed a different method ...

NOTE: Down for Maintenance, like a password, will prevent some payment methods from running correctly as the site will be Down for Maintenance for them ...
