Advancing Your Search: Searching Attributes?

Hey Folks,

I apologize in advance if this question has already come up elsewhere on the site but I did a lot of searching throughout the forum and couldn't find and straight answers.

My current issue with Zen Cart is it's Search function. I first assumed that when a customer searched a site they were able to search within the realm of the added attributes as well as the product descriptions. It wasn't until I started doing tests of my own I found that the Advanced Search was still sort of broad and general.

As of right now the Advanced Search function has a drop down menu for both Limit to Category and Limit to Manufacturer. What I wish I could add is a Limit to Size, or Limit to Color.

I'm not the most advanced designer, but I get by. Search functions, however, were never something I picked up. If anyone has any solutions, ideas or examples that they can share with me it would be greatly appreciated.
