    Default Curl issue

    Hi all

Prior to the installation, I removed the semicolons from the lines in both php.ini files as said. When installing zc locally, I receive the following error messages. However, if I try to install it when connected to the net, I get non of those messages. Everything goes smoothly.

    * CURL problems detected: 7 => couldn't connect to host more info...
    * CURL requires SSL support. Please notify webmaster or hosting company. 7 => couldn't connect to host more info...
    * CURL problems detected: 5 => Could not resolve proxy: proxy.shr.secureserver.net; No data record of requested type more info...
    * CURL requires SSL support. Please notify webmaster or hosting company. 5 => Could not resolve proxy: proxy.shr.secureserver.net; No data record of requested type more info...

Can anyone tell me if this is an issue and if so how to tackle it?

By the way I am using Goh Koon Hoek's book.
    Many thanks

It's not a surprise to see that error message when your PC is not connected to the net.

During installation, Zen Cart attempts to connect to a remote server to verify that cURL is working properly. Therefore, the error message appears during installation if your PC is not connected to the net as cURL could not connect to the remote server.

So we can install zc without being connected to the net and continue working with it locally as normal?

    Yes, that is correct.

However, take note that any function that requires access to the net to retrieve information will not work even if it doesn't use cURL. This includes whatever mods you might have installed on your local server.
