MySQL Connector for PHP

When I try (or anyone else for that matter) to access my site or the admin panel we get this
"Call to undefined function: mysql_connect(). Please install the MySQL Connector for PHP"

The site is a few years old and have had no Major problems... it is upgraded when updates are available and for the most part has been working without a hitch untill early this am now we get this.

We have not performed any changes to the shop or made any changes on the server (Bluehost) I have contacted them and they "say" it is an issue with Zen Cart any ideas before I start freaking?

As they are a "certified" host - I would ask them exactly what problem with Zen Cart this is....

I tried that and to be honest I was a bit shocked with the support guy , normally the folks at bluehost are top notch but when I started to push the
" So what is the problem with Zen " all he would say is must be a problem with the cart and that was about all I could get out of him.

kobra beat me to it - definitely a host problem.

Edit: I'd keep calling or emailing until it's fixed.

They seem to have a good rep here - you may have just happened upon the one loser in their tech support department.

I would make backups if you do not routinely do this right now - both files and the DB

Also retrace anything that you might have changed

I am working on all of that right now and I will post the outcome if anyone else has any input I look forward to it . In the meantime I will keep "stalking" bluehost LOL

UPDATE:

I just got off the phone with Bluehost Support ( and I feel much better now)
The support guys name is Troy and he is a great asset to Matt and the guys at Bluehost he assued me it WAS a problem on thier side and that the "team" was working on it and should "hopefully" be repaired in a short time.

He also asked me to let everyone on the ZenCart forum know that they are dedicated to making sure ZenCart works flawlessly with Bluehost and if we ever have anything GOOD or BAD to report about the customer service dept at Bluehost to drop a line to [email protected] and Mike will be sure to look into the problem or give a "good ol" slap on the back to the tech that helps.

Thanks for the replies that kept me calm whilst I got to the bottom of the problem.
