Default "who's online" not showing users shopping cart

My hosting company did a cpanel upgrade and since then my who's online page (TOOLS --> WHO'S ONLINE) has stopped showing the contents of the users shopping cart, even though zen has a green or yellow dot next to the user to indicate there are items in the user's cart. I got the patch to stop who's online from hanging but it still will not show the table on the right hand side that shows what is in the users shopping cart (with each item written in link text) has anyone else been having this issue in 1.3.7 or 1.3.8 and what can you do to fix it??

note that it will periodically starting working again on its own at random for like an hour or 2 and then stop working again for days (hope this helps)

I dont like using super tracker it is too bulky and i dont need all the options it has i just want my who's online page in my zen admin working again. please help!!

The hanging problem is caused by your host using a security feature called Suhosin. The 'patch' that people have posted on this forum does not work and should not be used. It does not fix the problem, it just glosses over it.

The only proper fix is to put your who's online code back to how it originally was and get your host to switch off Suhosin. If they won't switch it off then change hosts.

    Regards,
    Christian.

can suhosin be turned off on individual accounts on a shared server or would my host have to turn it off for his whole server at once

You might be able to do it with a custom php.ini file ... you'll have to ask your hosting company if they allow that, and what the correct content would be.

my host won't turn it off suhosin for me. He said that zen is working on a fix for who's online so it will work with suhosin. Is there anywhere i can check the progress on this??

I don't know if the dev team are working on this or not, maybe DrByte can comment, but I would be very surprised if it was on their 'todo' list at the moment. AFAIK, there is no easy fix, getting who's online to work with suhosin's session encryption would take a major re-write of how Zen Cart handles visitor's shopping carts. That means touching lots of core code.

Personally, I would just change hosts.

Who is "he"? I'd like to know what he knows that I don't.
