FREE Item with $300 Order

I searched and searched the forum, looked through the downloads section and did not find a solution for this. We do this on our Monster Commerce Site, but I don't see a way to do it with Zen Cart.

We need several levels or qualifiers and AUTOMATICALLY drop the promo item in the customers shopping cart.
$100 Order = Free Part Number - 123flag
$300 Order = Free Part Number - 123mp3
$500 Order = Free Part Number - 9991212
$1000 Order = Receive all 3 items for Free

An option so the Free items can be individual for the order threshold OR cumulative?

Hope this sparks someones creative programming juices flowing.

I looked carefully at swguy's Better Together and I am not sure that it will do what I want it to do. Anyone come up with a contribution that will do this yet?
