help question PayPal_Session DB Table Issues

I am currently using 1&1 as my host provider. The current limit, that 1&1 allows on their MySQL database, is 100 MB. On the original design of the store, we thought this would be enough, because we thought it would be a low volume site. After 18 months we find ourselves at 70% of the DB usage. Currently we have no problems with this DB, but within the next 6 months we will excide the DB limits.

I have notice that the PayPal_Session table is using the most of the DB – currently at 40 MB which is 75% of the total. Can anyone tell me if I can purge the data from this table during a maintenance mode? Will I need to purge any other associated tables? What could be the adverse affects of this purge? Is anyone using 1&1 with similar issues? 1&1 basher need-not-reply.

My version of ZenCart is 1.3.7 and using MySQL v4.0.27

Thanks in advance for all of your help

You can safely purge the "paypal_session" table if all your paypal transactions have completed correctly.

Thanks DrByte for the quick response. My intentions are to put the site into maintenance mode and make a few changes and then I will dump this table. I noticed the table entry's were not dated, so can I assume that its first-on first-off? Any suggestions and recommendations would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks

So when you say PURGE does that mean I can somehow delete this - i'm having a problem with Maximum execution time of 300 seconds importing my database.

    Absolute nightmare!!

"purge" would be another way of saying "delete all records in that table". You must not delete that table though.
