Doh! , I miss-read your original instructions and created an option name of File instead of using File as the option type.

I was wondering why does zencart rename the uploaded file? Im trying to set up an upload area as well, and since im have the customer upload media files such as MP3 and WAV they need to be in ZIP format. When I test out the function it renames the ZIP file to a number like 1.zip.
Is there any way to maintain the name of the zip file the customer has labeled it?
In the shopping cart details it states the correct name of the file, but not in the uploads directory.
Fred and Harry want to upload the file:
TheWayWeWere.mp3
Somebody is going to get overwritten ...
So ... the files are renamed by number.ext and reference the original filename in the database and on the order ...

Hi again
Is there an easy way to replace the upload button with one of my own that matches the site scheme?

Hi linda,
Is it possible to add the order number in the renamed image file? Like 24333_1.jpg. After we download and process the file, it's hard to find which order it belongs.
Also, I tried to download the file from store front: http://www.mystore.com/store/images/uploads/1.jpg
But got
403 Permission Denied
You do not have permission for this request.
What I need to do so our employee can download this file directly (no ftp needed)?
Thanks a lot.
Michelle
Not without a lot of customization ... the upload is done before the order is created so the new file name is already generated ...
You would need to customize an additional routine to take the uploaded file and rename it again after the order is made ...
