    Default Template Override Problem

Please delete.....i'm an idiot and just found another thread posted two days ago with the exact same problem!!!! Sorry
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73098

Sorry if this is a repost, i tried doing a search for it but couldn't find the answer.

Problem: After selecting template override the left and right boxes disappear!

I recently bought the "e-start your webstore with Zen Cart" book and have been reading through it. I am having troubles on page 273 about "switching templates".

    This is what i did

Copied/Duplicated "includes/templates/classic" directory to a new folder "includes/template/magic" pretty much duplicating the original folder as the book said. I then went into the template_info.php file and renamed the template name to "Magic Template". Following i went to Tools>Template Selection and selected my Magic template override. When i refesh the page (www.thinkbamboo.com/z-cart) the Left and Right Side Boxes disappear. I can't figure out why this happened. I then select the original "Classic Contemporary Green" and the left and side boxes reappear. Pretty much i am using an exact duplicate of the classic directory without even changing a thing but the name of the folder and the template_info.php file.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

This is not a problem; this is the behavior of the system. Simply set your boxes up again as you want them.

Or press the reset button at the bottom of Admin > Tools > Layout Box Controller page to set them to the default settings.

I think I saw a template some time ago that when installed, it automatically configured the sideboxes as well. Can this be done, or was I just dreaming?

Possibly you're thinking of "save default sideboxes?"
