Attributes quantity

Hi,
I am trying to understand the attribute controller here.
Is there a good documentation somewhere to understand this?

I also need to figure if i can assigned the quantiity based on the attribute.
For ex

Lets say I have a category tablecloth

subcategory : Cotton table cloth

Product : Cotton cloth check shades

this has 3 different colors

Red
Blue
Green

can i assign the quantities to red, blue and green?

red 2
green 3
blue 5

And later can i view these quantities some where in a form of a report?

Please help with this..

Get and install the stock by attributes module from the downloads section
