Payment and/or shipping problem. Please help!!

Hi all!

This is my problem.

In my shop people can either pay by credit card or COD. There are two shipping categories for this, regular and COD. Regular costs 2.00 and COD costs 5.00 (post office charge). In the shop, the person first chooses the shipping method, then the payment method, and what is happening, they are choosing the regular shipping service with the COD payment method.

I need a way to either tie the COD shipping method and payment method, or a way to apply a surcharge if the COD payment method is selected (and then would just have one method of shipping, the COD shipping cost being offset by the surcharge applied having chosen the COD payment method.

I would be really grateful for any ideas.

Did you look into the Modules ... Order Totals ... COD Fee ot_cod_fee to see if this provides what you are looking for?

Or to skip payment page when one type of shipping is selected?

I'm on the way of solving this, but I need some help :)


In the tpl_checkout_confirmation_default.php file at the begining, I want to add code to check if there is something wrong in the step 1 and step 2

What I need is to know where is writen the value that user picked in step 1 and step 2

I would like to add something like this:

if ($payment_method == 'value1' and $shipping_method == 'value2'){
$shipping_method = 'value3';
};


so I need that two variables where I can read payment method and shipping method
