    Default the IP address changes

    Hi All --
I put the site 'down for maintenance' and added my IP as exclusion - however, the IP changes, and I need to enter the new IP so it will continue to let me in. How do I set it so it will continue to allow my IP access? thank you

Down for maintenance does not block the admin. Each time you change your IP, you'll need to change it in admin.

Your Internet Service Provider issues IP addresses DYNAMICALLY. So, every time you dial up to your ISP, you get "logged on" and issued with an IP address - which is very likely to be different from what you had the last time you dialled in.

This is also true of a broadband (ADSL) connection, because even though you may stay connected for longer periods (several days), either you or your ISP can "break" the connection - after which a re-connection will result in a new IP address.

For certain users, the ISP will issue a permanent IP address - typically large companies who need a static ID for intranet and extranet purposes.

For the average user - dynamic assignment of IP addresses is the norm.

ZC recognises this, and that's why, in the header of your zc admin console, your CURRENTLY ASSIGNED IP address will be shown. So if you need it for anything, it's there - right in front of your nose.

There is nothing you can do in ZC to "remedy" this - IP addresses have nothing to do with ZC - they are assigned by your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
