help question Securepayp payment module installation help please!

Hi - I have version 1.38a of ZC, and am trying to install the securepay payment module from sara jacobson? - says it is version 2.0.0 - and it is for v 1.3 of ZC (not sure if that means it won't work with later versions or not).

I have tried several things - INCLUDING the instructions given with the read me file with the module. Where I am at is: I've installed per the instructions and made sure the specific files were where they were supposed to be in accordance with the instructions. That got me no results - the module DID NOT show up on my admin / modules page - so that I could select it and install it. SO, I noticed that the "handler" file wasn't in the main directory where it should be - it was buried several sub-directories deep - so I copied and pasted it (leaving it where it was originally) and put it in the main directory where the securepay.php file is as well. WHAT HAPPENED IS THIS: I got several 'warnings' as shown below on my admin/modules page: (quoted error text is in { })
{Warning: include(/home/hansen8/public_html/includes/languages/english/modules/payment/securepay_handler.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/hansen8/public_html/admin/modules.php on line 173

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/hansen8/public_html/includes/languages/english/modules/payment/securepay_handler.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/hansen8/public_html/admin/modules.php on line 173

    Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/hansen8/public_html/admin/modules.php:100) in /home/hansen8/public_html/includes/modules/payment/securepay_handler.php on line 35}

I also got this same thing yesterday when I tried this-but also put the securepay_handler.php file in another location. When I tried to rectify these issues yesterday - by removing a couple of the instances where I had pasted the securepay_handler.php - I got a fatal error on the admin/modules screen and lost all my other payment module options for a brief time - until I undid EVERYTHING except the original upload of the files to the proper directory.

Here is how my directory tree looks for my upload of the securepay module:

I hope these images will be readable and will allow someone to help me get this taken care of. I am leaving it as it is with the errors in place at this point in time - as I don't want to undo - again just to have to re-do and make a simple change.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer me. I've been told that my profile was "off" and that people couldn't see my posts. I am not sure - but I think I set it to "on" - if not I apologize and could someone tell me how to do that - I don't mean to appear secretive at all, only naive I guess!

Thanks again - and God bless,

    Sara

Sorry - but I didn't know how to edit my post - I was searching through my files to see if I could find an error or something and found my "error log" - from the two attempts that I have made at installing the securepay payment module - and thought I would post those here - so that someone might see something I am doing wrong and be able to help:

That kind of message appears when you've uploaded a file to the /includes/modules/payment folder but haven't also uploaded a corresponding language file.

But, in the case of securepay_handler.php, that file shouldn't be in the /includes/modules/payment folder at all.

As per the installation instructions, the securepay_handler.php file should be in your public_html folder.

You have other problems too ... you've uploaded the files for 2 different mods into multiple places on your server.

You're best to remove every file from every version you installed, and start clean.

Pick one version or the other.
Unzip the downloaded file, being sure to retain the enclosed folder structure when unzipping.
Then upload the included files to their respective folders, using the same folder structure as contained in the zip file.
ie: the "includes" folder stuff would go into the "includes" folder on your server, etc.

    Dr Byte,

So - I've removed everything having to do with securepay from my files on my site and my computer. I've gone and downloaded ONLY 1 version from a link on the help forum. I've unzipped it into it's own directory on my computer. If I am understanding correctly - the unzipped files (which are just an "includes" folder and a readme.txt file) go into the public_html/includes folder on my site. You said to maintain the folder structure from the unzipped file to the uploaded unzipped files/folders, so I am not sure I follow - but will just go ahead and try "both ways" to see which one works. I will follow the "first" instruction first - that says "upload the included files into their respective folders, using the same structure as they are in the zip file" - vs. just uploading the "includes" folder to the includes folder online.

I'll report back with my success shortly (I hope!) Thanks for the info and patience. I've put to use the info in the posts I received from all this - and found how to "de-bug" or decipher the "Warning" text slightly - and actually get rid of some of them - but its best to start over if I don't know for sure what I'm doing, as I am sure everyone on the forum will agree.

    Take care and God bless,
    Sara

    Dr. Byte,

I just want to report that - I've achieved a successful installation - at least it showed up on the module page and I was able to hit the install button and customize it as I needed. I've not yet tried it out to see that it actually works as I can't get past the "shipping" module I've installed - I'm using USPS with calculated (by weight) domestic and international priority mail options - and it keeps telling me USPS doesn't show any rates for my zipcode - so I'm not sure what that is about - I've jumped through all their hoops and registered on USPS for the web tools that are associated with my account - and put in the proper user id they assigned me etc., and I've emailed them and asked them to change my account from test to production server so it should be active. I'll wait for about 12 hrs to see if it didn't get done because it was over the weekend or something like that for the USPS to switch my account - though I did that late friday night I think - so that shouldn't be a problem later today.

Let me know if you think of any other reason it might not be working - the shipping module is more of a mystery to me than the payment module was I think.

Thanks again for ALL YOUR HELP - and again - the patience of a saint for dealing with all us newbies!

    God bless,

    Sara

You could skip the shipping page by turning on something like Table Rate, leaving it at its default settings, and trying a test checkout. That would allow you to test your payment module.
