Default Orders not showing up - orders_status emptied

So I made the foolish mistake of messing with the database without making a recent backup first, and of course I screwed things up. My site isn't live yet so this isn't a complete disaster (I hope), but this needs to get sorted out soon.

I was trying to clear out all previous orders from PHPMyAdmin by truncating the "orders" tables. In my haste/stupidity I also emptied orders_status which I believe is causing my current problem. Now test orders I place don't show up in Customers -> Orders in the Admin or in Account History on the front end.

Is there anyway I can fix the orders_status table without having a backup? Again, my site isn't live and currently there are only 16 products so if I have to enter those again its no big deal.

So I did a bit more looking around and found a solution to my problem. From the Admin section I went to Localization -> Orders Status (which is what I wiped out from PhpMyAdmin) and inserted new status values. Orders seem to display properly now. Phew.

I hereby solemnly swear to backup everything regularly, search the forum throughly, and take a more logical approach towards programming and life in general.

    Thanks for posting the solution!

There is a way kewl mod in the downloads section for getting db backups right from admin. I heartily recommend it. Backups are done in no time at all from the admin section and there is no need to access cPanel to get to mysql database and then, go to phpMyAdmin to do a backup. What a time saver!!!
