Default How do I do this?

I've been reading and trying things and this next thing eludes me.

The example on the following site show the product, a "Please Choose" dropdown (easily done)...but, how does one add all of those microthumb popups lower down?

    Help anyone?

Each belongs to an attribute that is attached to this product...
In the attribute controller when assigning one - - at the bottom is this

    Attributes Image Swatch:

enter/point to the image to be used

Hello, and thank you for your reponse.

I've been following directions and clicking, and I cannot for the life of me find these advanced attributes setting screens for things like assigning an image to an attribute.

Have started with the Attributes Controller, created a Option Name, gone to Options Value, and have circled every way that is clickable and am unable to get to an Edit screen to find anything more advanced than Rows, Display Size and Max Length are for Text Attributes Only, and a few other simple parameters. I have not been able to reveal anything that drills down into more settings.

I have made sure that Admin/Configuration/Attribute Settings items are all True or ON. I have two separate Zen Cart installations, one very fresh, to make sure things were clean. No go.

Sooooo, can I ask... can someone provide a step by step creation of an attribute to where I can see on a screen, the ability to assign a Image Swatch? For the life of me, I have tried to read every tutorial and HOW TO, and read a slew of posts, and it still eludes me.

I've added an attachment to show the extent of how far I have been able to get. I know being able to add an image to an attribute is somewhere, but am at a loss after many hours to find it, sigh.
    Help anyone?

Your screenshot is of the Option Name Manager. The place to add images is in the Attributes Controller.
Look at the bottom of the page, just below the multicolored "Attribute Flags" bar.

    Hello!

I *finally* was able to get to this screen. Did it by going to the Sample installation template and figured out what characteristics are applied to Items with * next to them. Then that expanded attribute screen showed up, finally!!! Cool.

What I was trying to do was apply these to a Category. Which I believe you can do, but I have still not figured this out yet. This is a photography site so I want to be able to add photos under a Category and have these attributes automatically apply to new Products, aka images, as they are added.

I will keep banging on it as I am > < that close to getting it I know. These discovery journeys are cool... as is this ZC community. Thank god for open source...

Attributes do not apply in any way to categories. You can add a category image in the category editing page.

I am seeing this now, yes.

I just received advice in another post that I believe aims me towards what I am trying to do... which is how to create an attribute that will be applied to all products placed under a specific Category. Am working on a photography site and photo images can acquire the same print sizes under a specific category. Am working to figure this out now....

tx a mil for your response. This discovery process has been a grind, and fantastic.
