FREE Downloadable Product - Downloadable Countlessly?

I setup a FREE downloadable product, with FREE shipping, to test the Zen Cart Charge Card.

In its attributes section I set:
Expiry Days = 0
Maximum download count = 1

Test customer goes through a smooth transaction, getting its "free test product" immediately upon "payment". However, the customer can now download the product any number of times he wants... and the product's status in the test customer's shopping cart stays at "Processing" even after after numerous downloads.

I thought that Maximum download count = 1 should make sure that the customer cannot download infinite number of copies... What am I doing wrong?

OK - I just discovered that if Expiry Days is set 0, the "download count" doesn't count (no pun intended).

I tested same product with Expiry Days set to 7 and this indeed allowed only one download.

The only problem now is that I tested that with Set Order Status (for the Zen Cart Charge Card) to "Delivered". I am going to revert back to "Processing" and see if that makes any difference.

OK - I tested that and it behaves exactly the same - except that the order status that the customer sees in "My Account" is stuck at "Processing"... This is not very nice. I am going to change it back to "Delivered".

There is something a bit touchy on this that we will be looking into for a future release to manage the Number of Downloads and Number of Days to give it a bit more variety and flexibilty on this ...
