USPS Shipping Isn't Combining Weights Properly

Hello,

I am having trouble getting the USPS module to accurately combine shipping for me. I sell only 2 products at this time - am using the 1.3.8a (most recent) ZC, with the most recent install of the shipping module. I have no other add-on's for my site. I'm just in need of the shipping module to handle simple calculated shipping for domestic and international shipping. I don't use a handling charge, and the tares are set to zero. I have it set that all packages are machinable - as they are. The package weight for 1 is 3#, (I sell this item as a single or a pair - 2 different listings - that is the extent of the products I sell at this time), and for 2 is 4# (this is packed weight - ready to ship). So - we show the weight on the listing - so customers will be able to see the best way to ship a multiple purchase.

Anyway - I can't get the combined shipping to show up properly and can't figure out how to get it to work. I've got the proper accounts through USPS (web tools) etc., and can't get it to combine shipping properly. I had it working fine before I removed the "tare" features - as I didn't want to use the mark up per item for packing materials - its best to use the packed weight.

Any ideas? I sort of need to refer someone to my site to purchase a large quantity and wanted to have the shipping working properly before I did.

Exactly what is or isn't happening? The URL where this can be seen?

When I put in say 5 - pairs of headsets in the cart and click the "estimate shipping" button it says they will ship for $12.45 - but that is what it would be for 1 pair of headsets to ship to my address - and the package weight is 20# - which won't ship for 12.45.

Something isn't right - I thought Priority mail had a weight limit ... I get:

United States Postal Service (1 x 20.00lbs) (Priority Mail (2 - 3 days)) $32.85

I'm not sure what happened but it appears to be working now. I didn't change anything - other than the tares settings earlier today. Yes Priority Mail has a weight limit of more than 16oz / 1lb. and less than 70 lbs. I believe. (At least for flat rate priority mail - and I think its the same for all Priority Mail).
