Canada Post Packing info returned

Canada Post returns packing information in response to ZenCart requests. It is easy to parse this and report on box used, weight assessed, quantities and I would like to record this in order history (or somewhere) to be used when actually packing the order (perhaps similar to how PayPal feedback is recorded).

Not sure where this should go or how to get it admin accessible and would appreciate some guidance.

Some brief guidance of the concepts required for your custom coding:

You'll have to alter the shipping module to return the extended information, then alter the order class to remember the extended info based on the selected shipping method so that it's not lost between pages, and then further alter either the order class or the checkout_process module to store the extended information someplace -- the simplest of which would be as an additional order_status_history record ... which both you and the customer will be able to see.
