Moving the side box out side

Hey guys,
Heres the problem

basicly I added a a border around my zencart using the tpl_header and tpl_footer. it looks a works great, the only problem is i would like to load the side boxes on the outside of my zen cart.

so to recap

tpl header loads the top and left side of the page
tpl footer loads right and bottom side of the page
and the side boxes are stuck in the middle

any know what file the side boxes are loaded in so i can possible move them on the out side of the border?
