Layout and the Sideboxes

Lets say I wanted to get rid of all the sideboxes on the right... and wanted my center content to be able to spread out to the edge of the page due to the absence of the boxes... what can i do? atm thers just a white blank area to the right where boxes are supposed to be and the center content remains how it was when the boxes were there.. do i have to change even the boxes that are "off" to the left hand side or wat...
