help question Makeing attributes before 'add to cart' button

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how to make my attributes show up before the add to cart button, because right now it can be a little confusing and even get missed because the attributes selectors are under the add to cart button.

And, I know this is unrelated to page layouts, so chastise me if its wrong to ask this here, but- 1.How can I also make it required for some one to select an attribute before being allowed to add the product to their cart, because right now they don't even have to chose one but in reality i need to know what size they want. 2. can I make it so that they can enter a different quantity of each attribute (a quantity box next to each attribute)

Idea or Suggestion Showing attributes before the 'add to cart' button

Wow, seriously? no one? maybe if I restate the question + I have a new one too.
    1. a. Right now my product attributes are displayed below the add to cart button AND b. The user is able to add the product to the cart without having to select an attribute which screws up the order for us because if we don't know which size they want than we cant bill them correctly. However I need it to display the attributes and their check boxes above the add to cart button and I would like to make it required to have users check one of the attributes so that cant add the product to their cart with out doing so. Any help one these issues would be greatly appreciated.

    2. Another layout issue is what you see in the picture. We have two sets of 'add to cart' buttons and quantity boxes, (and none of these buttons arrange themselves well, the arrangement is a bit wacky as you can see). I am assuming that we have two here because the product has two attributes; I wouldn't mind having a quantity box for each attribute, but a. I'd like to label the quantity boxes to eliminate any confusion as to which box to use, and b. I would like to have just one add to cart button that will add the product according to whichever checkbox or quantities of each attribute that the customer selects. Once again any help on these issues would be great, because with out it I'm just a lost zenner with people wandering confusedly through my poorly built site.

Try using a dropdown button, this should force them to make a choice or a warning will come up I believe.

I don't know what is going on with your cart button, someone with more experience will have to address that, but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be that way.

Thanks Raz, that was helpful, it didn't work on my system quite the same way, but by saving the file somewhere else I was able to make it work, if your curious you can find my solution posted on that forum you gave me. Also, it turns out that on my system there is no error from the drop down menus if they do not choose one, instead it automatically selects which ever option was at the top of the drop down menu.
