    Default Download Button stopped working after migration

    I have tried to upgrade our ZenCart from v1.3.7 to v1.3.8a without much success.

    Applying or not the customizations that I have done, I'm getting the same results – when the customer try to download his/hers online purchase, the download button appears, however it is linked to the wrong location (the download is unsuccessful). I have checked the configure.php file and everything seems to be fine to me.

    Those are the steps that I have tried:
    1 – Unzip a copy of the new version of Zen Cart, upload it to our webserver into a "store-temp" folder, and install the new version into a separate database, and include the Demo products. It worked perfectly.
    2 – I have changed the configure.php file (on both include folders) to point to our current database and I executed again the zc_install/index.php and now I choose “Upgrade”. Everything went well without any noticeable issues.
    3 – The “out of the box” ZenCart store (without my customization) seems to be working but when the custom login and try to download he/she gets the issue described initially.

    I have tried many different approaches for this upgrade (and this one is the simplest one) and I'm getting the same result.
    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Check the settings in the Configuration ... Sessions ... and make sure the path is right ...

    Check the settings on your two configure.php files, on the server, for the paths of the directories:
    /includes/configure.php
    /admin/includes/configure.php

    look at the new site you set up that you say works ...

    Also make sure /download is 777 ...

    Thanks for your reply.
    - I have checked Configuration > Sessions and the path is correct.
    - I doubled checked /includes/configure.php and /admin/includes/configure.php (e. Everything seems to be fine)
    - and also checked /download folder (it is 777)

    Right now, I have a database that has been patched from 1.1.7 to 1.1.8 and there are two instances of ZenCart that point to it (it is just for testing purpose):
    - In one, my ZenCart v. 1.1.7 with my customization - it works fine even after the database patch
    - In other, ZenCart v. 1.1.8a - it seems to work fine, except the issue here described (download button doesn't work properly for the customers)

    I stated the permissions incorrectly ...

    /pub 777
    /download 755

    check that you have the right settings ...

    Then, go to the Attributes Controller and ensure that you have green dots next to the filenames of your downloads ...

    The issue has been fixed. The problem was with the /pub foder.
